Hey guys. I know I have been M.I.A this month and I’m so sorry but I wanted to give you all a quick update so it doesn’t seem like I completely fell off the face of the earth. I have been traveling back and forth all month shooting Heartland in Calgary and Shadowhunters in Toronto. I think I have been on a plane more times this month than I have slept in my own bed. It’s safe to say I’m pretty exhausted but will be home for a couple of weeks before I have to head back to shoot again.
We have some pretty exciting collaborations coming up in the next couple of weeks that I cannot wait to share with you all. Hope everyone is enjoying the last couple weeks of summer!!! XOXO
It’s been a long day, the temperature outside is scorching, you check your makeup and that beautiful smokey eye you did on your lids this morning hasn’t stood a chance. Your eyeshadow looks creased and is barely visible at this point. I’ve been there and know greasy lids and creased shadow isn’t cute, but I found a product that will keep your eye makeup looking fresh all day and night!!!
Shadow Insurance by Too Faced is the most amazing primer I’ve ever used! Apply a small amount to your lids before you start with your eye makeup and it will do two wonderful things:
1. Conceal any redness or veins that appear on your eyelid &
2. Keeps that beautiful smokey eye, or whatever look you’re going for, on all day and night. You won’t be disappointed

This foundation has been hot, hot, HOT for a while now, but if you haven’t checked it out yet, you definitely should give it a go. This foundation creates such a beautiful, perfect look leaving your face feeling super moisturized, that I actually look forward to putting this makeup on. It goes on like a second skin, doesn’t look like you’re wearing makeup and still has great coverage.
It leaves your skin looking fresh and dewy, which is a great for spring and summer. However, if you do have oily skin, you may want to set your foundation with a powder after.
I use shade 6.5

I’m so happy to finally say, SPRING IS HERE! And what a perfect time to talk about a product great for spring and summer that will make you look like you’re glowing from within.
Cream blushes, which can be applied with a brush, sponge, your finger, or a beauty blender, make you look as though the slight colour on your cheeks is coming from within. It’s a more natural looking blush that is so pretty for this time of year. My favourites are by Mac and my choice of colour for spring is Mac’s Something Special.
Tip: if you feel as though there is too much cream blush on your cheeks, a damp beauty blender will take care of that problem right away. Blend it out!!

One of the worst feelings for me is that sudden onset of a zit coming my way. I’m sure we have all been there and it’s definitely not fun. Here’s my all natural beauty secret to getting rid of those terrible blemishes.
Tea tree oil. For years, I searched high and low for something to ease the pain of a blemish and a couple of years ago, I finally found it. I put a drop or two on a q tip and dab away at my blemish after I’ve cleansed my skin before bed. If you find it’s too strong, you can dilute it with water. My go-to tea tree oil is from The Body Shop. These little bottles last a long time and are perfect for traveling, which is when breakouts for me happen most. Check it out

What do you guys think of Red or Rose coloured eye shadow? Lately, there have been a lot of makeup trends using reddish tones on the eyes. During summer, the rose gold colour seemed to be everywhere I looked. My Heartland makeup artist used it on me for a recent episode that just aired and once I saw it on, I kind of fell in love with the look.
Now that its winter, I have transitioned the rose gold we used in the summer to a darker tone and usually smoke it out with some darker shades around the crease. What do you guys think of the look? It’s definitely different but I think it’s pretty!! ☺

Kaitlyn Leeb as Cassandra on CBC’s Heartland.
As many of you know, actress Kaitlyn Leeb has been the make-up and beauty expert on our blog as of late, and writes her own weekly column: A Day Of Beauty With Kaitlyn. Well as of February 1st, the beautiful Mrs. Leeb landed on the cover of North York Post magazine and we couldn’t be more proud!
I had a chance to catch up with Kaitlyn earlier this week, and she shared what a positive and heartwarming experience this was.
“I was featured on the cover of the North York Post this month and I couldn’t be happier!! Born and raised in this city, it was such a pleasure to be apart of this Toronto magazine. In the article, I talk about my career, how I put it on the back burner for a couple of years to complete my Psychology degree at York University, my experience working on CBC’s Heartland, working with stars like Colin Farrell in Total Recall, and a new show I recently became apart of, Single Ladies, which airs this March.”
Well done Kaitlyn! For those of you who want to learn more about Kaitlyn Leeb, connect with her on Twitter, Instagram, or leave her a comment below! And stay tuned for next week, as she’ll be sharing her thoughts on a new alternative to fake eyelashes.
